The short version. NightRewind is a personal record of your own night, put together on your own phone. Use it for that and you will not fall foul of anything below. We charge for some features through Google Play, we do not promise the recap is perfect, and if something goes wrong our liability is limited — the detail is in sections 5 to 9.

1. Who you are contracting with

These terms are an agreement between you and Quickin Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 06567159), registered office 13 Alexander Road, Birmingham, England, B27 6ER — "we", "us", "our".

By installing or using NightRewind, or by using this website, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

2. Product status

NightRewind has not yet been released and is in active development. Pre-release software can change, break, lose data or be withdrawn. Do not treat a recap as a permanent record of anything that matters to you until we have removed this notice.

3. Who may use it

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough in your country to consent to the processing described in our Privacy Policy. The app is intended for your own personal, non-commercial use.

4. Your licence, and what you may not do

We grant you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use NightRewind on devices you control. You agree not to:

use it to record, track or profile another person, or to build a record of someone else's movements;
reverse engineer, decompile or extract the source, except where law expressly permits it;
resell, sublicense or redistribute the app or its output as a service;
interfere with its security, circumvent paid features, or falsify entitlements;
use it unlawfully, or in breach of anyone else's privacy rights.

The first item is the one we care most about. NightRewind is built to summarise your own night to you, which is why contact names never reach a shareable card and never reach the AI digest. Using it to keep tabs on somebody else is a misuse of the product and a breach of these terms.

5. Free and paid features

The free tier gives you a full recap. Last night, your places, your spending, your photos and the route map all work without paying. That is a deliberate commitment, not an introductory offer.

Paid tiers add the AI digest, recap history, cloud sync and export. The Trip Pass is a one-off purchase that unlocks a single holiday recap.

6. Payment, renewal and cancellation

All purchases are processed by Google Play. Prices shown in the app are supplied by the store in your own currency and include any tax the store applies. We never handle your card details.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
Cancel any time in your Google Play account settings; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy, not ours. We will help where we can, but we cannot reverse a store charge.
A Trip Pass applies to the one trip it was bought for and does not expire with a subscription.

If we change a price, we will tell you before it takes effect and you may cancel rather than accept it. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

7. Your content

Your recaps, and the photos, locations and contacts they are built from, are yours. We claim no ownership of them and no right to use them for anything beyond providing the features you have switched on, as set out in the Privacy Policy.

The app, the NightRewind name, the logo and the design remain ours.

8. What we do not promise

A recap is assembled from signals your phone happened to record — location samples, photo timestamps, notifications. Those signals are imperfect. So:

We do not warrant that a recap is complete or accurate. Places can be missed, merged or misnamed; spending totals depend on which notifications arrived.
Distances, dwell times and venue names are best-effort estimates, not records of fact.
The AI digest is generated text. It can be wrong.
We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and features may change or be withdrawn.

Do not rely on a recap as evidence, as a financial record, or for any legal, insurance or employment purpose. It is a memory aid.

The app is provided "as is" to the fullest extent the law allows.

9. Liability

We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your non-excludable rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data beyond what we could reasonably have prevented, or loss arising from your reliance on the accuracy of a recap. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period and £50.

10. Ending the agreement

You may stop using NightRewind at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms — in particular section 4 — or if we discontinue the product, in which case we will give reasonable notice and, where you have paid for a period you cannot use, a proportionate refund via the store.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product develops. The version number and date at the top will change, and we will tell you in the app before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that point means you accept the new version.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
